Q: What is the difference between the Super Bright Bore Alignment Tools and the standard?
A: The difference is the diode. The Super Bright Bore Alignment tool comes with a 635 nm Diode that is brighter and easier to see. The standard bore tool comes with a 650nm diode. The difference, at night time, is the 650nm diode is visible at 500 yards and the 635nm is visible at 1,000 yards
Q: Will the bore tools work on pistols as well as rifles?
A: Yes, they will as long as you have a 4 inch barrel and the gun’s caliber is .22-.50 Caliber.
Q: Can you purchase extra adapters?
A: Yes, the cost is $7.00 for all kits with the exception of the Hi-Precision. The cost on the Hi-Precision is $9.00 (due to the brass insert in the bushing).
Q: What is the difference between the Hi-Precision Bore tool and the other Bore tools?
A: The Hi-Precision has several distinct features that make it more accurate. Some of the features are: The shooter can fully calibrate the bore tool to each and every gun. There is a brass taper that is easier on the crown of the barrel and better for repeated use. The Hi-Precision has a stainless steal shaft for increased strength and durability. The Hi-Precision also comes with a plastic case for carrying or storage of your bore tool.
Q: Will the adapters mar the finish of the inside bore?
A: No, we use 100% DuPont ® Delrin material for durability of the adapters and it does not harm or mar the rifling inside your barrel.
Q: What makes the Bore tools accurate?
A: In our testing we found that the last 2 inches of the barrel determine best where the bullet will end up. In addition our bore tool is an all one piece machined aluminum patented design. Our arbors ensure a snug fit inside the barrel and our taper on the tool
make certain the tool is aligned to the bore of the gun. With the patented design, adjustable arbors and the tapered fit this make one of the most accurate bore tools available.
Q: What do the numbers represent on the target card that is supplied with the Bore Tools?
A: The target is supplied for the purposes of sighting in your gun at shorter distances. Compensation needs to be made for the distance between the center of your scope and the center of the bore. For instance if you are sighting-in at less than 50 feet, you will want to measure the height distance between the center of your scope and center of the bore line. What ever the distances is (i.e. 2 inches) you will need to put your laser dot right on the bull’s-eye of the target and adjust your cross-hairs on the 2.00 mark. If your height distance is 1.75, you would adjust your laser dot on the bull’s-eye and your cross hairs on the 1.75
mark above. At 50 feet and greater, put your cross-hairs of your scope right on the laser dot.
Q: Why can’t the .17-.22 Caliber Bore Tool work for .17-caliber to .50 calibers?
A: Due to the very small inside diameter of a .17 caliber we could not make a universal tool and keep the same accuracy. To ensure the customer the most accuracy we created a separate tool for calibers .17-.22.
Q: What is your warranty?
A: One-year against any manufactures defects.
Q: Where is your product produced?
A: Here in the USA.
:: UNIVERSAL RAIL MOUNT ::
Q: What guns other than railed pistols will your rail mounting system work with?
A: This system will also work with any picatinny style, standard weaver base, 3/8th inch dove tail, NATO Rails or Military Specifications 1913 rails.
Q: Will your rail mount system work on all pistols?
A: We found that this new system will work on 97% of all pistols with rails. We discovered a few pistols that our system will not work with and the list is as follows:
Beretta: 87 Target (.22)
Bersa: Thunder Ultra Compact, (.9, .45)
All CZ’s
EAA: Thor Single Shot
S&W: 9GVE (.9, .40)
Springfield: XD 3’ barrel (.9, .357, .40 .45)
STI: IPSC (.9)
Heckler & Koch: Mark 23 (.45)
Q: How does the mount attach?
A: LaserLyte came out with a unique claw-type system that securely attaches to the rail/picatinny/weaver base area.
Q: Does all the hardware come with the systems?
A: Yes, everything you need to attach to the weapon and sight in your laser is supplied.
Q: Are there different switch’s available for the Laser Rail Mounts?
A: Yes there are three different types. The first type is a slide switch that has an ambidextrous on/off button. When you push the button, the laser stays on, and move the switch to the middle location and the power goes off.
• The second option is the pressure switch straight cord. The cord is approximately six inches in length and is pressure activated. Pressing down on the pressure pad area will active the laser dot, and once released the laser dot turns off.
• The third option is a curly cord that is also is pressure pad activated. This is a curly cord material and can be extended out to 10 to 36 inches in length.
Q: What is the difference between the standard Laser and the super bright?
A: The standard Laser has a 500 yard range (5mW output and 650 nm diode). The super bright has a 1,000 yard range, (5mW output and 635 nm diode). This measurement has been determined at night time range.
Q: Can you see the Laser in daylight conditions?
A: There are no red Lasers in a class IIIa that are visible in sunny conditions, however you will be able to see at shorter distances depending on your ambient light conditions. The recommended use for Lasers is dusk to dawn or night-time use.
Q: What types of batteries are supplied with your Lasers?
A: All of our products operate on (3) A-76 batteries which are supplied with each unit. These batteries are common watch/calculator batteries which can be obtained at any camera store or any well known sporting good retail stores.
Q: How long should I expect the Laser to operate on these batteries?
A: Constant on the batteries will last 1.5 hours, which translates to 3 months on intermittent use.
Q: How do your Lasers adjust?
A: The Laser features a two adjustable screws. One screw is for windage and the other screw is for elevation. One would sight the laser in similar to adjusting your scope.
Q: Does my pistol need to have rails?
A: Yes, your pistol needs to have rails for our rail mount. If you do not have rails you can attach an after market picatinny rail (check with your local dealer). The other option is to use LaserLyte’s Universal Trigger Guard mounting system to mount your laser.
:: QUICK DETACHABLE LASERS ::
Q: Do your Quick Detachable Systems work on all pistol rails?
A: No they do not. They are pistol specific. Please refer to the Quick Detachable mounts for the variety of pistols that they accommodate.
Q: Does this mount hold up under heavy recoil?
A: Yes it does. The QD mount utilizes (2) cross locking pins to securely attach the Laser sight to the pistol’s mounting rails. The (2) cross locking pins are operated by (2) buttons, when depressed they release the Laser sight for quick removal. When installing depress the buttons, slide the mount on the mounting rails and release buttons.
Q: How does the Laser adjust?
A: The Laser features a two-screw windage and elevation adjustment for easy zeroing.
Q: Can this mount be fitted to a picatinny style weapon?
