Q: What firearms does the LT-1 work with?
A: The LT-1 works with .22 - .50 caliber firearms so long as you have at least 3” of actual barrel length.
Q: Will the LT-1 work if my barrel length isn’t 3”?
A: No, to accurately train with the LT-1, you will need a minimum of 3” of actual barrel length.
Q: How do I install the LT-1?
A: Once you install the batteries, choose an adapter which works with your firearm’s caliber. Insert the screw included with the laser into the correct adapter and thread the screw into the narrow end of the LT-1. This will expand the adapter so you will need to expand it only until it can be inserted snugly in your barrel. Gently insert the LT-1 into the bore of your firearm making sure it is snug then roll the battery cup (activation switch) to turn the laser on.
Q: Why are there two different sized batteries?
A: The LT-1 functions in two different modes - constant on and training mode. The larger batteries are inserted directly into the black battery cup and are used during the constant on mode. The smaller batteries are inserted into the small brass tube which is inserted into the black battery cup and are used during the training mode.
Q: Why doesn’t the laser come on during training mode?
A: When the laser is set up for training mode it is a sound activated device. You will need to install the laser into the bore of your firearm and dry fire the gun to activate the laser.
Q: Will dry firing my weapon with the LT-1 damage my firearm?
A: To help reduce strain on your firing pin, we do suggest using snap caps.
Q: Why is there a constant drain on the batteries when installed during training mode?
A: In training mode, the LT-1 is a sound activated device, and therefore will continue to drain batteries when installed within the brass tube. To prolong the life of your batteries, we suggest removing them entirely from the brass tube when not in use.
Q: How long does the LT-1 activate?
A: When the hammer or striker is fired the laser activates for 100 milli-seconds to show where impact would have been if one was shooting with ammunition.
Q: What kind of batteries and how many of does the LT-1 use?
A: For training mode, the LT-1 uses 3 batteries size 377. For constant on mode, the LT-1 uses 3 batteries size A76 or G13.
Q: Where can I purchase replacement batteries for my LT-1?
A: The 377 or A76/G13 batteries are standard camera/watch/hearing aid batteries that can be purchased at your local Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, local drug store or any other place that sells watch or hearing aid batteries. You may also purchase 12 packs of replacement batteries from LaserLyte directly.
